Metaphysical: Psychic Seminar (part 1)

By Paula Bianchi –

By the late 90’s, I had practiced with Tara Sutphen’s, Automatic Writing CD plus a couple of her other meditations, (I love the sound of her voice. It’s very relaxing.) I had read most of Dick’s books and listened to a few of his meditation CDs. I had subscribed to a newsletter they published every month called, The Valley of the Sun. Tara would share her Automatic Writing messages from her guide, Abenda, and Dick sold his books and CDs, but he also offered weekend psychic seminars in different locations across the states, and I think some of them were in different countries. The seminars were conducted over two to three days, where we would do past life regression meditations, learn how to use psychometry, and he would talk about being psychic.

I told my friend, Cricket, and she was very interested in going to one too. We chose a weekend in Sedona, AZ at the Bell Rock Inn and booked our trip. When we arrived the day before the seminar, it was night time, and we really couldn’t see the landscape as we drove from Phoenix to Sedona.

As we were driving, we could see a lightning storm in the distance. We watched a beautiful display of electrical energy strike the ground again and again. After a while, we realized we were heading towards the storm. The closer we got, the brighter each strike became. We could see flashes of the landscape as we approached the last mile to Sedona, which was were the storm was.

The Bell Rock Inn wasn’t as hard to find, as we had anticipated, because of the dark. We checked in and carried our bags to our room. Both of us were exhausted, so we went straight to bed. We woke up early and got ready for the day. We had enough time before the seminar to go have breakfast. At this point neither one of us had opened the curtains to finally see our surroundings in the light of day. Cricket pulled the curtain back, and we both stood there in awe.

The colors looked so vibrant against Arizona’s bright reddish dirt. Everything glowed with energy from the lightning storm the night before. Cricket and I grabbed our purses and practically ran outside. We were surrounded by rich red mountains. The closest one was shaped like a bell. It was all so beautiful. We quickly got into the car and drove down the road to the Coffee Pot restaurant, which was located by a rock in the shape of, you guessed it, a coffee pot and had breakfast.

People were signing in and collecting their name badges when we got back to the meeting room at the Inn. We signed in and put our badges on then found a seat. I would guess there were around 25-30 people attending.

Dick talked about what we were going to do and when the breaks were. He discussed about being psychic, and one of the things he said was it isn’t as complicated as people may think. They assume it’s like a big production in their heads, but that’s the furthest from the truth. He explained it was as simple as just saying, “Hit it” in our minds to get the information to start coming through.

Finally, it was time for us to do the first past life regression meditation before our lunch break. This was the main reason why I came. I wanted to recall a past life so badly. I had Dick’s past life regression CD, but of course, my guide always told me I couldn’t see any past lives. I thought maybe it would be different here. I was hoping, because of the energy of being in Sedona, I would remember one.

Starts out great. He counts us down into one of the deepest meditations I’ve ever experience. He takes us to the point where we’re supposed to look down at our bodies to see how we’re dressed, and I see nothing. What do I hear? You can’t see one. Great. I was so disappointed. I just meditated until it was time for us to wake up.

Cricket beamed at me when we were done, and I could see the excitement in her eyes. “What did you see?” I asked, trying not to show my disappointment. At least one of us remembered a past life, I thought.

“It was incredible! I could see myself dressed in old tattered clothes, and I was a young girl like 8 or 9. I think I’m in the 1400 or 1500’s. I’m walking in a small town, then, I start running because I can see my dad is leaving in a horse drawn cart with just two wheels. I catch up to him just before he drives the cart up the hill that leads to our house. I hop into the cart and sit down with my legs dangling from the back.  Slowly the cart makes it to the bend at the top, and as my father is making the turn around the bend, the right wheel slips and falls off the edge causing the cart to tip over. I see myself falling out and landing flat on the ground to my death.” She paused there for a moment. I could see recalling this death seemed a little weird for her.

Then she continued, “Now I’m out of my body and looking down at it. My father is so full of grief. He’s blaming himself for my death as he picks up my lifeless body and hugs it tightly rocking me back and forth while he sobs. As I’m hovering, watching the scene below, I realized that my father, in that life time, was my deceased husband from this life. This is why I would always get so freaked out whenever my husband and I drove along cliff sides. I had a terrible fear of falling over, but only when I rode with him. Just before we woke up, I heard my spirit guide telling me I had to experience losing my husband in this lifetime because of how my father/husband had to deal with losing me in that lifetime.” Cricket took a deep breath and slowly let it out. “You know, I really feel lighter. I’m full of so much more understanding of why my husband left.” She then asked, “What did you see?”

“Nothing but my guide telling me I can’t remember a past life right now.”  I said, with disappointment dripping from my voice. Cricket reminded me I would get one more chance tomorrow, and I just smiled thinking I won’t get my hopes up.

Part 2 of story continues in my next metaphysical article. Bye for now.

  1. It sounds like you were disappointed. I wonder if perhaps you lived pretty intense past lives too, like your friend was describing – could be past experiences that would be hard to know about just yet. Seems you got a lot out of the conference! -Rebecca

    1. Lol disappointed is an understatement, but I agree with you that they could have been too intense for me to relive. I did get more out of the seminar than I thought I would. 😊 Thanks for stopping by.
